White Calla

White Calla

For this shot, a white Calla (or Kalla) was set Upside-Down in front of a black Cardboard. The black Cardboard was mounted on a Softbox. It covered the surface of the softbox about 90%. The light from the softbox hits the object in front of the black cardboard like a Ringflash. This creates a beautiful slim silhouette of light on the object, but the object itself is allmost in the dark. A second Light creates a small spotlight, just hitting the blossom of the Calla. To create the droplet, I used nail polish, in a color that matched the white Calla. It took some time to catch the perfect drop, but after some attempts, this is what came out.
